Tumblr Speaks Up About Internet Censorship

If you are a Tumblr user, you may have noticed something different about your dashboard today. Things probably seemed a lot more [censored] than usual.
Tumblr chose an invasive and ingenious way to show its opposition to the PROTECT-IP Act and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) today by “censoring” posts and providing users an easy interface to get in contact with their local representatives. By the looks of it the move worked, if my dashboard (now full of content about the issue) is any indication.
Embarrassed at my ignorance concerning the aforementioned acts, I did some research and decided to call my representative and voice my opinion, a process expedited by Tumblr’s assistance. Ninety seconds later, I had made my call and my case, and decided to encourage others to do the same, in a way that only a chart connoisseur can–whipping up a sloppy chart in Paint.

I encourage you all to do some research on the matter, form your own opinion, and contact your representative should you feel so inclined.
As for my opinion: the Internet is my home; keep it free.
